Why this matters

Factory cleaning that respects the production line.

Industrial cleaning is not office cleaning with a bigger mop. It is degreasing under machinery, knocking down dust at height, scrubbing concrete that takes real traffic, and doing it without ever getting in the way of production.

It is also not one job. The East Preston industrial precinct is zoned in two layers: a heavier manufacturing core wrapped in a lighter workshop and warehouse buffer. A plant running presses and a fabrication shop two streets away need different chemistry, different equipment and different safety paperwork, and a contractor who quotes both from the same template is guessing at one of them.

Clean My Biz runs industrial programs for Preston sites that need cleaning fitted to the shift, not the other way around. We scope the work on a site walk, schedule around your runs, and document every clean. Where a plant upgrade or a new fit-out finishes, the handover is quoted separately as a builders clean in Melbourne, and ongoing work sits under our commercial cleaning services in Melbourne.

On the ground in Preston

On the ground in the East Preston precinct.

Preston still runs genuine industry. The City of Darebin holds roughly 295 hectares of zoned industrial land, and the East Preston precinct is the biggest working piece of it: about 130 hectares between Gower Street, Albert Street, Dundas Street and the Darebin Creek, holding manufacturers, fabricators, trade businesses and workshops that the inner suburbs priced out years ago.

The stock tells you what the cleaning has to be. Chifley Drive and the estates around it run high-clearance warehouses with roller doors, loading docks and truck drive-through access. Behind them sit older workshop and factory buildings with the concrete, the pits, the machinery surrounds and the overhead steel that come with decades of production. Preston Workshops, the tram heavy-maintenance facility off Miller Street, is the scale that industry here still reaches.

The direction of travel is real too. Across Darebin, manufacturing employment has been thinning while transport and warehousing has grown, which means a lot of Preston floorplate is being re-fitted rather than retired. We clean plenty of sites that changed hands or changed use, where the last operator's grease is still on the slab and the new one wants it gone before an audit.

We schedule around how the precinct works. Cleans fitted between or after production runs, crews inducted to your safety system before the first visit, and access planned around Bell Street, the arterial that carries this precinct out to the Eastern Freeway, the Tullamarine and the Ring Road. Reservoir sits directly north with its own industrial pocket, so a business running sites in both gets one program and one account manager.

Common questions

Industrial cleaning in Preston, answered.

If your question isn't here, the full FAQ covers 28, or call 0433 173 504.

Can you clean around our production shifts?
Yes. We schedule industrial cleans around your runs, working before, after or between shifts so cleaning never stops production. For sites running long or continuous hours we work in zones, and for 24-hour operations we run rolling windows agreed with your site lead at the free site visit.
Do you handle degreasing and high-level cleaning?
Yes, by two routes. Degreasing machinery surrounds and floors, and scrubbing and treating concrete, is our own crews. High-level dust-down on beams, ducting and racking needs reach equipment, and that part is scoped and managed by us but delivered with a trusted access contractor, not by our own crews. The access method and the chemistry are both scoped on the site walk, because the right product for a fabrication shop is the wrong one for a packing line.
What sort of Preston sites do you clean?
Both halves of the precinct. The heavier manufacturing core off Gower Street and Albert Street, where the work is machinery surrounds, pits, slab and overhead steel, and the lighter workshop and warehouse buffer around Chifley Drive, where it is roller doors, dock aprons, amenities and the offices attached to the shop floor. We also handle changeover cleans when a site changes hands or changes use.
Are your crews trained and insured for an industrial site?
Yes. Crews are police-checked, complete your site induction, and follow your safety system. We issue Safe Work Method Statements for work at height, confined spaces or hazardous chemicals, in line with WorkSafe Victoria, and we hold public liability and product liability insurance, with certificates provided on contract signature. Zero lost-time injuries since 2015.
In depth

Industrial cleaning across Preston, in depth.

What does an industrial cleaning program in Preston actually cover?

It starts with which half of the precinct you are in. The East Preston industrial area runs about 130 hectares between Gower Street, Albert Street, Dundas Street and the Darebin Creek, and it is zoned in two layers: a heavier manufacturing core, and a lighter workshop and warehouse buffer wrapped around it. In the core the work is degreasing machinery surrounds and the slab beneath them, scrubbing concrete that takes forklift and pallet traffic all day, knocking down dust from beams, ducting and overhead steel with reach equipment, and keeping amenities and lunchrooms to a standard that holds up when someone walks through with a clipboard. In the buffer it is closer to warehouse work: roller doors, dock aprons, racking, the office attached to the shop floor. Both are scoped on a site walk before we quote, because the chemistry that lifts cutting-oil residue off a press bay is not the chemistry you put anywhere near a packing line, and the only way to know which you have is to stand in it.

How do you clean a factory without interrupting production?

By fitting the clean to the shift instead of asking the shift to make room. Most Preston sites we service run cleans before, after or between production runs, and the schedule is set with your site lead at the free site visit, not assumed. Where a site runs long hours we work in zones, so one area is being cleaned while the rest keeps running, and the crew moves as the line moves. Where a site runs continuously we agree rolling windows. The safety paperwork is part of the schedule, not an afterthought: crews complete your site induction and follow your safety system, and we issue Safe Work Method Statements for work at height, confined space entry or hazardous chemicals, in line with WorkSafe Victoria. We have held a zero lost-time injury record since 2015, and we would rather lose a job than rush a crew into a bay that is still live.

Do you clean older factories and changeover sites in Preston?

Yes, and there is a lot of it here. Across the City of Darebin, manufacturing employment has been thinning while transport and warehousing has grown, which means Preston floorplate is regularly being re-fitted rather than retired: a building that pressed metal for thirty years takes on a new tenant who needs it clean, compliant and presentable before they can trade out of it. Those changeover cleans are their own discipline. Decades of grease sits in the slab, dust sits on structure nobody has reached in years, and the amenities are usually the worst room in the building. We scope that on a site walk, quote it as a one-off with every line itemised, and where the same tenant then wants an ongoing program we roll it into a documented scope with the same police-checked cleaner each visit. Access is planned around Bell Street, the arterial that carries this precinct out to the Eastern Freeway, the Tullamarine and the Ring Road.
